Massage treatment is personal. It means something different to each of us. Do you want to deeply relax? Maybe you’d like to relieve soreness and revitalize muscles. Perhaps you need to restore wellness after surgery or rehabilitate from injury. One style does not fit all. ProPilates tailors each massage session to your personal concerns and needs.
Far from a conventional Swedish massage in a typical spa setting, the ProPilates massage upholds the highest standards of therapeutic treatments. Our massage therapists practice advanced forms of bodywork, focusing on enhancing performance, strengthening, stretching, loosening tissue, clearing lactic acid, and thorough healing. Designed to complement your ProPilates workout, our massage treatments help energize the mind, body and spirit.
This massage helps breakdown the superficial tissue of muscles and scar tissue due to specific injuries, surgeries and/or lack of muscle strength. Lack of blood flow to these areas could cause numbness, stiffness and discomfort and limit the bodies range of motion. This massage technique involves the therapist using their hands as a suction cup on the skin and applying a light stretch and holding it until the tissue releases.
This massage helps breakdown the adhesions (knots) and lactic acid caused by stress and poor body mechanics. Tension in certain muscles can cause tension headaches, pinched nerves, tender points and trigger points. This massage technique involves the therapist palpating the affected areas and applying deep strokes until the adhesions are worked out. In order to perform a Deep Tissue Massage, the therapist must be able to feel individual muscles. If the therapist is unable to feel the muscles then a Myofascial Release Massage must be applied first.
This massage helps enhance the athlete’s physical and mental recovery from strenuous sports activity and also helps to facilitate healing after a disabling injury. This technique focuses on muscle groups that pertain to a specific sport and is done by stretching and applying deep pressure to the origins and insertions of the muscles.
This massage focuses on specific injuries and trigger points to help realign the body. This treatment involves observation and muscle testing to determine what areas of the body need to be treated. This technique is performed with long medium to deep strokes and friction to the origins, insertions, and belly of the muscle.
